The term "Neti Neti" is a famous Sanskrit teaching from the Avadhuta Gita Veda for "Not This, Not That." Many Ancient Mystic paths have revolved around the negative affirmation of "things we experience in the mind" as Not This and Not That - and counterbalanced by the Upanishad teaching "You are That." It is a beautiful teaching; but it is also much more difficult to follow than the simple art of relaxing into pure awareness - which automatically transcends not this and not that.
